Peanut Butter Bread
Peanut Butter Bread
This is one of the more simple breads to make. No Baking Powder or yeast. Hey just like the Pioneers. They might have actually made their own peanut butter, I bought mine at the grocery store. You can use creamy or chunky depends on if you like a crunch in your bite of bread. Just add a little jelly/jam and you have a PB&J
I used Dark Brown Sugar, you could use light or medium whatever you have on hand in your cupboards.
If you don't have buttermilk and can't go to the store, you can make your own buttermilk by adding 2 Tbsp of vinegar to regular milk. Do not use imitation vanilla.
I like to line my pan with parchment paper as I don't want to add anything to the actual loaf.
Ingredients
1/3 cup+ 2 Tbsp of Peanut Butter
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla paste or regular vanilla
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
Bake in 350 degree oven, preheat. Cream together peanut butter and sugar until well blended, add buttermilk and egg. Mix well. Mix flour and baking soda before adding to the creamed ingredients. Pour batter in a 8x4 greased/parchment lined loaf pan.
Bake for 1 hour on medium place oven rack.
