My Version of the dessert Baklava. Talk about easy. I know I say this all the time but this really is.

I use frozen puff pastry and thaw it.  That is all 2 of my markets carry. I would have to go across town to buy Phyllo Dough.  So you can use either. I have only found phyllo dough at Whole Foods in my city. I will try that next.  I like to take what I have and make a recipe work.

I used 3 different kinds of nuts, it makes it a little more interesting. The only nut I wouldn't experiment with this recipe is peanuts as they are a strong nut and changes the intention of this dessert. This dessert comes out very nutty and not very sweet as the only sweetener is honey.

I package Pepperidge Farms Puff Pastry
Flour
1 cup butter melted (2 large sticks) Land O Lakes
3/4-1 Cup (total 3cups)each of Assorted Nuts chopped
2 Tbsp Vietnamese cinnamon
1 Tbsp Cardamon
Honey

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees. Spray 13x9 baking dish before you start your layering.
Mix the different chopped nuts together with the spices.

Set aside.
Sprinkle flour on a clear dry surface so you can roll one sheet of the Puff Pastry out on (the package usually comes with 2) the floured surface, one at a time.  Roll pretty thin, you will then take a sharp knife and cut the rolled out dough in half. Take one 1/2 and place in the baking dish on top of the spray. Take a pastry brush and generously brush the melted butter on the first sheet of dough. Sprinkle   1/3 0r 1 cup of the nut mixture over the butter layer, drizzle honey over nuts being careful to cover the nuts and repeat this 3 times.
Then take the last layer of dough and lay over the last of the nuts. Score the top of the dough in 24 squares. You can then score them again in a triangle as this will give you double so now you will have 48 pieces. You will brush the last layer of dough with the melted butter and drizzle honey oven the top.  Bake for 20 minutes. You know your oven so make sure it is just browned on top.  Once removed from oven heavy drizzle honey over the top it will ooze down into the pastry as it is cooling and make it nice and sticky.
