Did you say Dessert. Remember how to spell Dessert (you always want 2 Desserts, hence the 2 'ss) You only want to cross the Desert once (hence 1 s)
Ok onto to the Dessert So very simple and so elegant looking. it has 5 ingredients can you believe it?
These are from my moms friend about 1975 and I know there are different versions and different names for this dessert.
My mom called them Nan's Goodies
Melt 1 cube of butter in a 9x13 pan, I melted it in a bowl then poured the butter on the bottom
Pour Graham Cracker crumble over and combine and press in the bottom. I used the crumbs that come in a box. You can also use regular Grahams and just smash into crumbs.
Pour 1 can (15 oz) of Borden's condensed milk over the crumbs
Pour chocolate chips over the milk, you can use 3 oz of 60% Cacao chocolate and then 3 oz of milk chocolate. I like Ghiradeli Chocolate. But any brand will do.
Sprinkle 1 cup of flaked coconut over the chocolate, I used about 1 1/2 cups
Sprinkle nuts over this, I used chopped pecans.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20-30 minutes.

Now for a Lemony dessert. These are Snowballs some people call them Tea Cookies or Wedding Cookies. I picked the Lemons straight off my tree. Can you smell that fragrant Lemon that just tingles your nose. That tinge that just makes your taste buds stand up and take notice.
Lets get on with the recipe. There are only 4 ingredients, can you believe it.
1 cup of butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
Now you can add a couple of other ingredients
1 Tbsp of Lemon Zest plus more for rolling
1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
chopped pecans if you like a little crunch
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Beat butter, powdered sugar and the vanilla in large bowl with mixer on medium speed or use a spoon. Add the Lemon zest and juice, mix well with spoon. Now add the chopped nuts, as much as you want.
As you can see in the picture below it will look crumbly, just remember when rolling into balls the butter melts because of the heat from your hands as you roll and that is what keeps the ball together. Placed rolled dough on cookie sheet and bake for 8-9 minutes. Immediately after removing from oven roll in powdered sugar and more Lemon zest. Then let cool and roll them again in powdered sugar.
